Normandy, 1937. Robert Dumas, son-in-law of the Hermès family, is strolling along the coast, notebook in hand. He stops at the chains connecting boats to their anchors, captivated by the design of their interwoven links, and sketches them. The Chaîne d'Ancre bracelet is born, but Dumas wants to create it in silver, a metal shunned by jewelers of the time. No artisan agrees to work with him, except for a certain De Percin, the only one audacious enough to take the risk. Launched in 1938, the bracelet becomes the first Hermès jewel inspired by the marine world, in a house until then entirely devoted to the equestrian universe.
